Lately I've Been Feeling

I’ve been missing the sun a lot lately

The warmth down to my bones

Replaced by an eternally gray sky

I’ve been missing your laugh lately

And the way you’d joke with me

Or let me know I was a friend worth having

I’ve been feeling very alone lately

I doubt anyone meant to abandon me

But I still can’t shake the hollow in my chest

I’ve been eating lunch alone lately

Thinking it’ll help 

Some remedy to forced loneliness 

I’ve been wanting to write a lot lately

But my pen is dried up

And the words don’t come
